About CCAA
Our Vision:
A Canada free of ageism against older persons
About CCAA
What is Ageism? Ageism is a root cause of human rights violations against older people.
1 out of 2 people are greatly affected by ageism globally.
Ageism is destructive to healthy aging and the economy, while also disrupting intergenerational harmony.
It is imperative to protect older people’s human rights.
ILC Canada & partners launched the Canadian Coalition Against Ageism… a social change movement fighting ageism with evidence-based strategies.
These include 3 World Health Organization recommended interventions:
- Education across the lifespan
- Enhance intergenerational relations
- Influencing policy and laws
A United Nations convention on the rights of older people will transform everything from laws to social norms that underlie ageism.
